Expanded Current Church Building

• Expand toward East & South (toward Central Ave. & Loma Linda Blvd.)
• Remove fountain & extend vestibule / portico West, use current vestibule for seating

More Parking

• Parking Garage
  • Above ground
  • Underground
• Purchase Loma Linda Park
• Purchase lot next to Bowlero and run shuttles

Add New Campus

• Keep current church as-is and add an additional campus (church, parking lot, offices) at a location WEST.
• Since SJV western boundary is Perryville Rd. and there’s no other church till Buckeye, add another church building in between.
• Current campus = 7.7 acres, make new campus 10-15 acres.
• SJV Parish would still remain united, each church campus would have weekend liturgies and events, sacraments during the week.

Desires

• Keep “tight-knit” community feel
• Promote beauty in worship space (beautiful art, architecture)
• Effective temperature control (good AC, heating, efficiency)
• Good sound system (avoid echo, reverberation, too loud or soft)
• Enough seating
• Accessibility to all (ADA, cry-room)
• Sufficient and smart parking

Worries

• Expanding the church or adding another campus will cause us to lose “quaint character” / connectedness
• Adding another campus will negatively impact current campus & current neighborhood
• We are thinking too big
• We are not thinking big enough
• If we take over the LL Park for parking, the neighborhood will lose its last green space
• COST! Can we raise millions of dollars for this?
• Will current zoning allow for a parking garage (either up or underground?)

Remember… these comments are all from fellow parishioners, and this is a brainstorming phase. No decisions have been made! Finance Council & Parish Council are involved, we will have more chances to share and discuss – and the Bishop has final say. Let’s keep praying!
